the new leader of the goldenrod gym and a curious specimen, for sure. his appearance is striking, his goals even more so. though, if you get to know him, he's actually a pretty chill guy.

the first thing most people notice is the scar on his face. he'll never tell you how he actually got it, though. he likes to say it was an accident with some equipment. in reality, it was a result of his pichu protecting him from team rocket, electrocuting itself and him in the process. raden ended up fine in the end, but his pichu did not. which leads into his goals... the guy wants to revive the dead via electricity.

a good chunk of people avoid him. whether it be as shallow as the scar or as justified as being freaked out by his end goal, he doesnt have a lot of friends.

RELATIONSHIPS

THORTON: one of his first true friends he made after the incident. after spending most of his teenage years isolated and depressed, he was noticed by thorton, who was intrigued and captivated by his inventions. he began funding him, but nobody truly knows if he was doing it out of pity, for the hell of it, or genuine interest in his endavors. the two of them became fast friends, bonding over their shared interest in inventing. he stops by his lab often to hang out or help him with things he needs, provided its not too outlandish.

BARRY: raden met barry via thorton. the two were working together after barry took over palmer's spot as tower tycoon. barry was interested in thorton's new weirdo friend and started tagging along when he could. the two of them are pretty close. barry would be lying if he said he didnt find raden kind of weird, but thats what he likes about him.

MORTY: one of the few members of the league who doesn't completely avoid raden or feel neutral towards him at best. the two hang out when they aren't busy with their respective gyms. with morty being able to see the dead, he honestly doesnt find raden that odd. he isnt entirely sure if he agrees with his goal, but he doesnt let that get in the way of their friendship.
